Monumental Symbols of Empowerment Arrive los angeles
Kindred Arts, The City of Los Angeles Council District 10 & South Los Angeles Building Healthy Communities invite you to the opening weekend of Monumental Tour and a special preview of Hank Willis Thomas’ All Power to All People,
Feb 12th in Historic Leimert Park Village.
Please join us as we celebrate Black History Month and salute the community organizers currently driving racial equity efforts in South L.A.
Monumental Tour arrives Los Angeles, CA
Honoring African American histories and inspiring social change with 4 Monumental symbols of empowerment deployed across South L.A.
The VIP preview event will take place on Saturday, February 12 at Leimert Park Plaza, 4395 Leimert Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90008.
The entirety of the unveiling events will take place outdoors, allowing for safe and comfortable viewing. Non transferable invites also allow for one additional guest. The installations will open to the public on February 13th and will be on view through May 2022, accompanied by outdoor and virtual public program series.
Those interested in learning about the works and information on public programs, regardless of geographic location, can visit the exhibit virtually here. The installations were made possible with support from a coalition of organizations: City of Los Angeles Council District 10 and Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, LA Commons, Community Coalition (CoCo) , Los Angeles Urban League , Big Bowl of Ideas and The Japanese American National Museum.
